Financing 101: Working with a Lender

Sure, looking online for homes and going to open houses is the fun part of home-shopping, but the most important part of the process doesn't involve the home at all—it's finding the right financing for your needs and knowing how much home you can comfortably afford.

Preferred Lenders

I have a small number of "preferred" Midtown Sacramento area lenders I generally refer people to. This doesn't mean you shouldn't use your current lender if you already have a relationship with one, and I always recommend shopping around to find the best rate and terms for a home loan or mortgage. These are lenders my clients have worked with and who've been very helpful—they're lending experts.

An important part of working with a lender is finding someone you're comfortable talking to. Give a couple of these lenders a call and see who seems like the best fit. They're all great lenders, but find one with a personality and communication style that suits you.
